Jane's Picks: Sex Appeal Blush by NARS
What is the numero uno blush line in the whole entire world? NARS!! NARS!! NARS!!
I am obsessed with NARS blush. The line never disappoints me and despite the blush lines higher price tag, trust me when I tell you that it is WORTH it! You will not hit pan on this blush for a good long while and the blush output is strong, giving you over 8 hours of pure color. I won't name names but some blush lines are horrible, changing color midday and wearing off before your lunch time salad. Stick with NARS and you will keep your radiant glow throughout the day!
NARS recently released Sex Appeal blush which is a must for your collection. It is absent of the glitter/shimmer which Francois Nars seems to love in his blush. I have an issue with glitter/shimmer, i.e. I love Orgasm despite it's shimmer but it just never seems completely natural to me. Sex Appeal on the other hand is Orgasm's less flashy cousin. It's more subtle and subdued and a whole heck of a lot more natural looking.
I think this would not have the right affect on darker skin tones but on medium to fair skin tones this looks amazing. The color payoff is soft but totes worth it! I plan on bringing this with me on my island vacation!

Jane Picks: Smith's Menthol and Eucalyptus Balm!
I love all things minty especially during the holiday season and this balm is a must since it comes from my favorite, Smith's Rosebud Perfume Company. Yes you loved their original Rosebud Salve and my personal beauty arsenal go-to, Smith's Strawberry lip balm, now you can use the cooling and refreshing combo of Eucalyptus and Mint on your pucker! The combination of mint and eucalyptus will soothe your chapped lips as well as minor skin irritations from that holiday cold or allergies!
I saw this at Urban Outfitters recently but this product was one of the first ones created for the Rosebud Perfume Company. Mmmm mmmmm Minty!

Jane Picks: Say "I Do" in Jason Wu!
Fashion devotees of Jason Wu just got word that the designer will be created wedding day frocks for Net-a-Porter debuting in January! They will range in price from $750 to $4000. Not bad considering some bridal frocks can sky rocket up to $10,000!
No specific details about the dresses except for some dress that People.com released!
If I had to choose one, I'd choose the 2nd one for a more formal wedding or the 5th one and pair it with wrist gloves, fascinator, and vintage blue pumps!
Diamond Debate - Jessica Simpson's Engagement Ring!
So....what do you really think of Jessica Simpson's new engagement ring?
People.com released this picture of the engagement ring and people have their opinions about the non-diamond proposal prop. The ring itself is HUGE with a 5-carat center ruby and 5-carat pear shaped diamonds sandwiching the red stone. And it is all set in yellow gold?
That is the part that confuses me, the ring looks so...well it's not my cup of tea. To her new husband-to-be's credit, the ruby IS her birthstone. But in my opinion, birthstones are meant for anniversary's or jewelry symbolizing your kids birthdays.
On the other hand, I do love a large canary yellow diamond! Jennifer Lopez also once had a pink diamond engagement ring from Ben Affleck! (And we all know how that ended!)
Er, sorry Future Mr. Nick Lachey, nice gesture, odd ring choice!
Oh for reference, here is Jessica Simpson's FIRST engagement ring. Kind of similar no? Which do you prefer?

Jane's Picks: Philosophy Scents!
I have searched far and wide for a clean smelling fragrance, one that doesn't smell of chemically altered soap but a fragrance that is fresh, simple, and makes me feel squeaky clean. Last night in Sephora, I came across Philosophy's section and haven't tested their perfume's since the lovely Amazing Grace first came out years ago.
They have a whole line of 'Grace' perfumes like Baby Grace and Inner Grace, but the one that gets my vote for best clean scent is PURE Grace!
Seriously, try this out! This soapy sweet scent is so fresh and so clean and doesn't overpower your senses. Buy the spray for $40 at Sephora on Walnut Street and pair it with the lotion and body spritz for a fragrance that lasts all day!

Jane's Picks: Lash Out Loud!
Every bride wants her eyes to POP on her wedding! Eyeshadow, liner, and mascara are standard but false eyelashes are the missing piece to a sexy, come hither stare. My favorite pick for false lashes are available right in your drug store. Ardell makes great false lashes for under $5. They are affordable, come in a variety of lengths and colors, and keep their shape well which helps with application. The best numbers to try are #53 and #21 for lashes that look real and not like they were pulled right off of Kim Kardashian.
My best tip for applying lashes is to use dark lash glue, also available by Ardell, and put a little drop on the back of your hand. Using your ring finger swipe the glue across the base of the lash so that it is evenly coated but not globbed on. Now, the most important thing is to wait for the glue to almost dry before trying to put it on! I usually wave the lash in the air with the glue on it to dry it faster. You can tell when the glue is drying when it turns a darker shade of grey. Once it is almost dry, look down at the ground and DO NOT CLOSE YOUR EYE! Place the lash at the bottom of your lash line. Because the glue is almost dry, it will not slide around like it will if the glue is still wet. Adjust as necessary before it dries onto the lash. Voila! Inst-sexiness!
For those of you looking for a more permanant solution, try our semi permanant lash extensions! I recently tried this in order to let my clients know about this amazing new technique! A full set of lashes usually take an hour to apply. Individual lashes are attached to your own lashes with a semi permanant adhesive. They fall out with your own lashes and you can get them filled in every 3 weeks or so.
The first time I got them I was in love! Finally! No more mascara! My eyes were instantly bigger and sexier with my new perma-lashes! The application took a while but it was worth it. Some negatives are that once in a while, you may get that one out of control lash that prefers to go sideways instead of up and out. And depending on what side you sleep on, you may notice that more lashes fall out on that side.
I suggest that you try out eyelash extensions well before your wedding date to get used to them and to see the growing out process. Salon Iaomo in Greentree has a great rate on lash extensions so check them out! Ask for Jess!

Breakup with this makeup: Loreal Voluminous Hydrofuge Mascara in Carbon Black
WARNING!! Use of Loreal Voluminous Hydrofuge Mascara in Carbon Black will lead to a bad case of racoon eyes. Product packaging states that it is waterproof but DO NOT BE FOOLED! Within hours, it will be smudged all around your eye socket forcing yourself to ask 'why did no one tell me I looked like a mess?!?!'. DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT. DO NOT EVEN LOOK AT IT. Opt for the really waterproof non-hydrofuge version of Loreal Voluminous instead or just another brand all together.
It's a good thing I opted to use MAC's Splashproof mascara on the day of a client's wedding instead of this product. Can you imagine how mad that bride would have been if her mascara was running before her pictures?
Shame on you Loreal! Please take this off of the shelves!

Real Wedding - Wonder(wheel)ful!
Two weeks ago, my little brother RJ got married! The best part of the wedding, besides the couple, were the pictures at Coney Island (Nathan's hot dogs included) and the photo booth! Here are some pictures from the wedding!

Celeb Wedding - Emily Blunt
Congratulations to Emily Blunt who got married this weekend to the Office's favorite funny man John Krasinski! She is one of my absolute favorite actresses. Loved her in The Devil Wears Prada and even her small role in Dan in Real Life. I'd love to see her paired with Rachel McAdams in a movie! Anyway, here's a pic of the happy couple! What do you think of her Marchesa dress?

Imagine Her Dream Dress - Camilla Belle
Camilla Belle, the Brazilian beauty whose youth and talent is ripe for super stardom, is a major fashion trendsetter that I've been following for a while. She's been in movies like Push, 10,000 BC, and When a Stranger Calls. I'm simply mesmerized by her delicate features, strong brows, lithe figure, and fashion successes! Just look at her in the white Marchesa feathery number and the pink and grey Alexander McQueen. Gorgeous! I know she is one star that would WOW her wedding day crowd with her amazing dress choice. She loves to show off her collarbone area with off the shoulder and strapless necklines. She also loves wimsy in the form of texture and fine detailing. I'm picturing strapless with lovely details on the full skirt such as this Kenneth Pool and Amsale. What do you see her wearing on her wedding day?
