Hi Clare!
Just wanted to THANK YOU for the wonderful job you did for our bride, bridal party and myself!
Everyone looked so very natural and that's exactly what we were looking for!

Jane's Picks: Philosophy Scents!

I have searched far and wide for a clean smelling fragrance, one that doesn't smell of chemically altered soap but a fragrance that is fresh, simple, and makes me feel squeaky clean. Last night in Sephora, I came across Philosophy's section and haven't tested their perfume's since the lovely Amazing Grace first came out years ago.

They have a whole line of 'Grace' perfumes like Baby Grace and Inner Grace, but the one that gets my vote for best clean scent is PURE Grace!

Seriously, try this out! This soapy sweet scent is so fresh and so clean and doesn't overpower your senses. Buy the spray for $40 at Sephora on Walnut Street and pair it with the lotion and body spritz for a fragrance that lasts all day!

Jane's Picks: Lash Out Loud!

clare lozano
Every bride wants her eyes to POP on her wedding! Eyeshadow, liner, and mascara are standard but false eyelashes are the missing piece to a sexy, come hither stare. My favorite pick for false lashes are available right in your drug store. Ardell makes great false lashes for under $5. They are affordable, come in a variety of lengths and colors, and keep their shape well which helps with application. The best numbers to try are #53 and #21 for lashes that look real and not like they were pulled right off of Kim Kardashian.

My best tip for applying lashes is to use dark lash glue, also available by Ardell, and put a little drop on the back of your hand. Using your ring finger swipe the glue across the base of the lash so that it is evenly coated but not globbed on. Now, the most important thing is to wait for the glue to almost dry before trying to put it on! I usually wave the lash in the air with the glue on it to dry it faster. You can tell when the glue is drying when it turns a darker shade of grey. Once it is almost dry, look down at the ground and DO NOT CLOSE YOUR EYE! Place the lash at the bottom of your lash line. Because the glue is almost dry, it will not slide around like it will if the glue is still wet. Adjust as necessary before it dries onto the lash. Voila! Inst-sexiness!

For those of you looking for a more permanant solution, try our semi permanant lash extensions! I recently tried this in order to let my clients know about this amazing new technique! A full set of lashes usually take an hour to apply. Individual lashes are attached to your own lashes with a semi permanant adhesive. They fall out with your own lashes and you can get them filled in every 3 weeks or so.

The first time I got them I was in love! Finally! No more mascara! My eyes were instantly bigger and sexier with my new perma-lashes! The application took a while but it was worth it. Some negatives are that once in a while, you may get that one out of control lash that prefers to go sideways instead of up and out. And depending on what side you sleep on, you may notice that more lashes fall out on that side.

I suggest that you try out eyelash extensions well before your wedding date to get used to them and to see the growing out process. Salon Iaomo in Greentree has a great rate on lash extensions so check them out! Ask for Jess!

Breakup with this makeup: Loreal Voluminous Hydrofuge Mascara in Carbon Black

WARNING!! Use of Loreal Voluminous Hydrofuge Mascara in Carbon Black will lead to a bad case of racoon eyes. Product packaging states that it is waterproof but DO NOT BE FOOLED! Within hours, it will be smudged all around your eye socket forcing yourself to ask 'why did no one tell me I looked like a mess?!?!'. DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT. DO NOT EVEN LOOK AT IT. Opt for the really waterproof non-hydrofuge version of Loreal Voluminous instead or just another brand all together.

It's a good thing I opted to use MAC's Splashproof mascara on the day of a client's wedding instead of this product. Can you imagine how mad that bride would have been if her mascara was running before her pictures?

Shame on you Loreal! Please take this off of the shelves!
